Printers

Apart from printers for our three brands of cash registers, Sharp, TEC and Samsung, we also have printers from Epson and from Star.

The two main types of printers are dot-matrix printers, which print on plain paper using ink products (such as ink rollers, ink cartriges or ink ribbons), and thermal printers, which print on thermal paper. Roll for roll, thermal paper is more expensive, but since it is thinner, there is much more paper per roll, so it is effectively cheaper to buy than plain paper. An additional consideration is that there are no running costs other than paper associated with thermal printers since they do not need ink products. However, dot-matrix printers have the advantage of not being affected by heat as much as thermal printers, so they make ideal kitchen printers for POS systems.
