Programming cash register software to communicate with Sharp cash registers that have an RS232C port
ECR Pro from Ideal Business Solutions comes in three versions: Link, Lite and the full version.
The most basic version of ECR Pro is a low cost solution that will let you communicate with Sharp cash registers that have an RS232C port to program departments and stock items.
The Lite version also allows you to program PLUs (including barcodes), to transfer sales data and clerk/cashier data from the register for analysis, it will let you do GST reporting on sales, and it will allow remote modem communication. It also offers data export facilities, for example so you can use sales data for analysis with other software.
The full version has all the features of the Lite version, plus a stock control facility for a single location (including a stock valuation report and a stocktake function); it also allows you to track purchases from suppliers and do GST reporting on purchases, it supports exporting item data to label printing software, and it allows TCP/IP communication with the UP range of Sharp cash registers.
As well as features of Ideal ECR Pro, Ideal Retail Pro offers multiple location stock tracking, stock reorder reporting, "indirect items" that incorporate multiple stock items, and even more extensive sale and purchase reporting options. With optional modules, this version can also connect to PDE or PDA units for remote stocktaking or track customer accounts in a customer database.
The Samsung Utility software can be used to program Samsung cash registers and to retrieve sales data from them for reporting purposes.
